The PBA of Georgia and the Police Benevolent Foundation are asking for financial assistance for the family of Sgt. Chris Fisher with the Warm Springs, GA Police Department.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Sgt. Fisher was shot while finishing up an unrelated traffic stop in the parking lot of the Meriwether Country Inn on Spring Street shortly before midnight on September 1st. The suspect, whom Sgt. Fisher had previously arrested, pulled up next to Sgt. Fisher's patrol car, and fired multiple shots into the vehicle, hitting and killing him. The suspect then fled the scene. Following a Blue Alert being issued by the GBI, the vehicle was later stopped in South Carolina. Whereupon the suspect took his own life.

Sgt. Fisher was a seven-year veteran of law enforcement. He is survived by his wife and two children.

100% of the money received by the PBF will go to Sgt. Fisher’s spouse to assist her and her children during this tragic time.
