The State Law Enforcement Chapter of the Mississippi Police Benevolent Association and the Police Benevolent Foundation are asking for your financial support for Officer Alex Coleman with the University of Southern Mississippi Police Department. On April 9th, Coleman was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic thyroid carcinoma (thyroid cancer). He will be having surgery next week to remove numerous lymph nodes and the thyroid. The surgery will take 8-10 hours and he will then have a drain tube in his neck for 5 days. Radiation treatments will follow.

Officer Coleman is an eleven-year veteran of law enforcement, having worked with several agencies. During his career he has served as a K9 officer, School Resource Officer and as a SWAT Operator. He recently took the job at the University Police Department to be close to his tight-knit family in Hattiesburg.

Coleman and his wife Sarah have a young daughter named Adelyn Grace. His wife is a surgical technician.

100% of the money received by the PBF will go to help Officer Coleman and his family with their medical expenses.
