The Department of Motor Vehicles Chapter of the Virginia PBA and the Police Benevolent Foundation are asking for financial support for the family of Special Agent in Charge Gregory Wray, who recently passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

Special Agent in Charge Gregory D. Wray dedicated over thirty-five years of service to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Greg started his law enforcement career in 1997 when he graduated from the Virginia State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer 18th Basic Session. Greg then continued progressing his law enforcement career when he joined the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Law Enforcement Division in 2005. He served in many law enforcement roles at DMV during his career, starting as a Special Agent, Senior Special Agent, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, and finally as Special Agent in Charge. Greg most recently served as the Special Agent in Charge over the Commercial Carrier and Tax Enforcement Unit for the entire State of Virginia.

Anyone that knew Greg would say "to know him is to love him." Greg made friends wherever he went and would always lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a great leader who truly cared about each of his employees on an individual level. Greg was a dedicated law enforcement professional who genuinely cared for the community that he served.

Above all else, Greg's greatest sense of pride was for his loving family. He and his wife Linda were set to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this year. They have two children, Michaela and Cody, and a granddaughter, Evelyn. He and his family enjoyed anything and everything outdoors. This included traveling, camping, hiking, and trips to the beach.

100% of the money received by the PBF will go to help Gregory Wray’s family during this difficult time.
