The North Carolina Police Benevolent Association and the Police Benevolent Foundation are asking for financial support for the family of Deputy Sheriff Oscar Bolanos-Anavisca Jr. with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
On December 16th, Deputies responded to a robbery at a local convenience store.A K9 track was utilized to search for the suspect who had fled the scene.After deputies had completed the track, they were returning the to the scene on a roadway when Deputy Bolanos-Anavisca Jr. was struck by a suspected intoxicated driver. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Deputy Bolanos-Anavisca Jr. was a two-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office.He was engaged and was soon to be married.
100% of the money received by the PBF will go to his fiancé and family as they work through this tragic loss.
