The Sandhills Chapter of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association and the Police Benevolent Foundation are asking for financial support for Deputy Josuph Frischmann with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office.

On January 31st of this year, Deputy Frischmann suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized and released. In mid-February, he went into cardiac arrest at home, and his mother performed CPR until EMS arrived. Once admitted, an ICD implant was placed in his chest, and he was released again. A few days later, he was transported back to the hospital due to ICD shocks that totaled five times. He received twenty-five defibrillations shocks and was intubated. He was then transferred to UNC Medical Center and was eventually released.

His heart has been found to be working at only twenty-five percent capacity. He has been placed on a transplant list for a new heart. He was recently admitted to the UNC Medical Center’s CICU unit until he could get a heart transplant. This could take several months. His recovery after the transplant will be a long process.

100% of the money received by the PBF will go to help with Deputy Frischmann’s recovery and his medical expenses.
