The Mtn. Chapter of the North Carolina Police Benevolent Association and the Police Benevolent Foundation are asking for financial support for Lt. Russ Crisp of the Asheville Police Department.

On August 7th, Lt. Crisp and his family suffered a devastating fire in their home because of malfunctioning junction box. Fortunately, Lt. Crisp was at home at the time and the Fire Department was able to respond and keep the home from becoming a total loss. Lt. Crisp and his family, however, will be displaced from their home for at least the next six months due to the extensive smoke and water damage caused by the fire. Several rooms will have to be gutted to rebuild the interior and the roof. Many of their possessions including their clothing and keepsakes were destroyed. Lt. Crisp, his wife and their two small children have moved in with family during the interim.

Lt. Crisp is a 17 ½ year veteran of the Asheville Police Department and has served his community in various positions throughout his career to include Field Training Officer, K9 handler, Crisis Negotiation Team Member, Patrol Sergeant, K9 Sergeant, and as Internal Affairs Sergeant assigned to Professional Standards. He currently is the Section Commander for the Criminal Investigations Division.

These next several months will be very challenging for Lt. Crisp and his family as they cope with the upheaval of their family life and unforeseen expenses to come.

100% of money received by the PBF will go to assist with helping the Crisp family with this tragedy.
