On November 13, 2021, Officer Michael Chandler responded to a call involving a welfare check.
After arriving at the scene, Officer Chandler was fatally wounded upon coming in contact with an individual.
Chandler was transported to Norton Community Hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his wounds.
The Virginia Police Benevolent Association along with the Police Benevolent Foundation have started a memorial fund to aid with the care & support of Officer Chandler's daughter.
100% of the money received to the Officer Michael Chandler memorial fund will go to the care/support of his daughter.
